Get Set is the new Go
When I was younger, I was the annoying kid at gala’s who would always dive into the pool on GET SET! I didn’t mean to, but I was sooo excited and on the rare chance that I did wait for GO, I would then hesitate and miss my dive and kind of belly flop into the pool after everyone else. Cute really. A bit embarrassing, but cute.
Remembering my very skin piercing swimming cap and the smell of chlorine, this actually hasn’t changed all that much.
When I have to get up from the couch and I’m really tired and I say that I’ll get up on the count of 3…if I wait until 3, I lose momentum.
So I always get up on 2.
For everything. For anything I want to do. Start a project. Run a programme. Go somewhere. If it feels right and I know it’s right, then I always get up on 2. Before I get scared, before I lose momentum, before my head talks myself out of it.
Up on 2. Up on Get Set. Go on Get Set.
And then you’re already going.
Try it on the count of 3 ok?
1….
2….
